Family Activities

Dear host family,

I’m really happy to be writing this letter to introduce me to my Host Family.

I’m Amanda, I’m 16 years old and I was born in 2005. At five years old I moved in with my mother and my grandfather, but when I was 12 years old, in 2018, my mother’s cancer came back and she unfortunately passed away. It’s been five years since I returned to Curitiba and as of now I’m living with my uncle and aunt who are also my godparents.

My aunt works as a neuropsychologist. She likes to meditate, to track, to volunteer as a girl scout manager, and to watch a good movie on Sunday afternoon. My uncle works as a mechanic in the automotive area, and likes to make others laugh and make others happy with his food, which is very good! We spend a lot of time together and really like to visit new places together.

We also like to help around where we live and it feels good to help people and street animals. We even adopted a pet ourselves, she entered our backyard and never came out. Our neighborhood is quiet and it’s got everything we need close by, malls, pharmacy stores, and even fast food. It’s a very peaceful and nice community.

I consider myself a calm person depending on the situation. I’m affectionate and I care a lot about those I love, even though I don´t know sometimes how to demonstrate. I´m very curious and attentive, very loyal and good company, especially with my friends. I can be shy and but if I start liking and trusting people I get confident, and I open up very easily.

I’m in High School, and I like camping, and to be with my friends, cooking, reading and playing volleyball. I’m very happy to accomplish this goal to be an exchange student and to know what this experience is like.

Thank you so much for having me and for allowing me to learn more about your culture and your amazing country! I hope we can both enjoy this experience and learn more together!
