Skiing or Snowboarding

Dear host family!

My name is Ana and I’m fifteen years old. I live in a village near Madrid, the capital of Spain. I have a younger sister, she is eleven years old. My family all live together in a flat with our own big terrace. We also have a big pool, garden, and a tennis court in our neighbourhood, which we usually enjoy in Summer. My parents cook a lot and so does my sister. My sister loves sports, she plays tennis, golf, and basketball. For me, I prefer volleyball, I’ve been playing it for 4 years now. I also like cooking, most of the time I make sweet stuff. Our family love skiing, we do ski trip with other families in Baqueira every year and it’s so fun!

I consider myself a family person, I like to make fun plans. I enjoy spending time with my friends outside of school or from the volleyball team as well. However, sometimes I prefer to stay home and relax. My mom comes from a big family, so I enjoy all the family gatherings. That’s probably why I am good in communicating with people.

At school I am an active person. I usually participate many different school activities; for example, during the debate, I like sharing my point of view with my classmates.

This year from school we had to choose subjects. I picked Biology, Physics and Chemistry. However, my favourites are Arts and Physical Education.

I read a lot, since I was little, I loved reading different books, or even writing my own stories. Another hobby is drawing and painting. Last year I started with digital art in an iPad program called Procreate, but I’m still learning on it. Listening to music is, without doubt, one of my favourite things to do, even if I can’t sing! I love musicals and movies too.

About my personal interest, I want to go to the USA in order to improve my English. I would like to experience the American life and learn about their culture. I am willing to show them mine!

I’m ready to have fun, make friends, learn new things, and study hard so I can take advantage of this wonderful new experience in my life.

Thank you very much for reading this letter.

Warm greeting from Madrid!
