Dear Host Family,

My parents are divorced so I spent most of the time at my mum’s house with my mum, my stepfather and my stepsister. I really like spending time with my stepsister because I have so much fun with her. We like to go out shopping or just stay at home and watch a movie with the rest of our family. We also have 3 cats and we all love playing with them.

I consider myself as a hard-working and out-going person, although sometimes I can be a bit lazy and I just don’t want to leave my bed hehe. I also like helping others when they don’t understand something at school or they just simply need something.

I LOVE dancing. I’ve been taking ballet classes since I was 5 years old and now I take jazz and contemporary classes as well. I’ll start competing soon for my first time so I’m really excited. I also like reading and listening to music in my free time.

Some of my favorite foods are “tortilla de patatas” (spanish omellete) and sushi. I also like a lot “leche frita” (fried milk), the “croquetas” (croquettes) my grandma makes and the “torrijas” (is kind of like French toast) my mum makes. I would love to learn how to make them as good as my mum.

My favorite tradition of where I live is called “correfocs” (fire runners). A group of trained volunteers go running trough the streets of the city while lighting up fireworks and dancing like little devils. And my favorite holyday is Christmas. There’s just something about Christmas that just makes it special. I think it’s because I like spending time with my friends and family during that time.

I’m very excited about this experience but I’m also a little scared because i don’t know exactly what to expect but I’m sure that it will be a very meaningful experience.
