Dear host family,

My name is Eduard but everyone calls me Edu.

I am 15 years old (16 when I arrive) and I live in a large city in Spain. I am the youngest of three brothers. My brothers are already studying at university. My middle brother was also an exchange student in Missouri three years ago, where he had the time of his life.

I usually get up at 7:00 in the morning, have breakfast and then go to school.

I have classes from 8 am to 5 pm. I like mathematics and languages, especially English and French. I would like to continue studying those subjects and I would also like to enroll in others such as physics, business studies and world culture.

As soon as I finish my classes, I go home and take a shower. Then I study for about an hour and a half. When I finish studying, I enjoy some free time. In my free time I usually chat with my friends, watch YouTube videos and chat with my brothers.

Once a week I take French classes. I am very interested in discovering and speaking new languages. Furthermore, I am currently studying the Dual Diploma in Spain. I study United States History and English 2. Therefore, when I finish high school, I will obtain both the Spanish and American diplomas.

During the weekends, I basically study for my applications, play some video games, and meet up with my friends. One of my biggest hobbies is playing videogames with my friends. I don’t play much, but when I play with them I have a great time.

Mainly when I go out with my friends, we go to the movies, have dinner, go bowling and many more fun things! On my vacations we all go on a family trip together.

It is one of the events that we all look forward to during the year, because we always visit beautiful and foreign countries like South Africa, India or the United States,… I love traveling because I can discover new cultures and lifestyles and expand my knowledge of the world while having fun. I have already been to the United States twice. I love sports. I play soccer, paddle tennis, surfing or swimming. I really enjoy sports because they make me feel very good about myself. I am very excited to go to the United States for my cultural exchange, I think it could be one of the most important experiences of my life. I’m also looking forward to going to an American high school, meeting new people, and making new friends. And, of course, I’m looking forward to getting to know you, your customs and your culture. My brother had the time of his life as an exchange student along with his American brother and the rest of their family. I would like to have a similar experience in the United States!
