Dear future host family,

At this point I would introduce myself to you briefly and thank you that we will soon share our live and our time together, that allow me the cultural exchange at all. My name is Ella and I live with my parents (mom and dad) and my little brother together in a house on the outskirts of a big city.

My hobbies are currently boxing and acting in a drama school. I also do dancing and singing in my spare time. To move and express myself in acting makes me happy. I love it to go out with my friends in my free time and hang out with them or go shopping. In the summertime I like to go swimming because I love the water. In winter we go ice skating and skiing. I also like it to cook and try out new dishes and recipes, maybe I can show you what I like to cook and you can do it too. I do like family trips or hiking when they are not too strenuous.

I enjoy every celebration, but my favorite time is Christmas. The contemplative time with family and friends, Christmas markets, baking cookies and maybe snow!

I would like to do an exchange year in your country because I want to get to know your country and people. I want to gain experience in a high school and what it feels like to live as an American girl. Another goal of mine is to improve my English language.

I am glad that my parents allow me this one year of exchange and I’m just happy to start this adventure that I will remember for the rest of my life. I don’t have an exact idea of what this year will look like in America, but I hope that I will quickly meet new friends and find into your family life or maybe find new hobbies.

Either way, I’m happy to be able to seize this chance.
