Dear future host family,

My name is Emma, I am 15 years old and will be 16 next year, three months before departure. First of all, I would like to thank you for taking me into your family for a year and giving me the chance to have these wonderful new experiences.

I live in Germany with my parents, my older Brother Max and my dog Frida
(Labrador). We live in a house with a garden. My longtime hobby is horseback riding, where I spend a lot of time with. I also often spend time with my friends. We like to go to town or for a walk. I also like spending time with my dog and playing and doing sports with her.

I decided to stay with you in the USA because I want to gain a lot of new
experiences, meet new people and get new friends and, above all, get to know the American culture. Of course I would also like to improve my English skills.

I was inspired by videos on the internet and by my mother to spend a year abroad in the USA and I can’t wait for the journey to start. What I’m looking forward to the most, is meeting you for the first time and getting to know you! I am also looking forward to all the new things that will await me, for
example the high school and the classmates. And I am looking forward to getting to know recipes and dishes from you. But I also would like to cook a few German dishes for you because I enjoy cooking at home too.

I’m open to everything and I like to be surprised about how you are living and what your everyday life looks like. I would like to integrate myself as well as possible here for a year.
