Dear future host family,

First of all, I want to say thank you! Thank you for taking me in, showing me how to live in an American family and giving me the opportunity to spend a year in the USA. I appreciate your hospitality and I am really grateful for that.

My name is Leni and I live in Germany. My hobbies are Cheerleading and Ballet. I would say about myself that I am a really friendly and caring person. Family and friends are two of the most important things in my life.

I am also really ambitious. next to my family and friends, school and sports, especially cheerleading, are big priorities for me. My favorite subjects are Latin, English, History and French but I try to give everything my all. I really enjoy school and I am excited to see what the subjects are like in the US.

After school, I do some extracurricular activities like playing the trumpet in our school band every Tuesday or going to the local stadium. On Tuesday and Thursday evening I have a cheer practice. Thursday afternoon, I have ballet practice. I love walking our dog with my mom or just hang out with my friends on the other days except Sundays.

On the most Sundays, I rest and prepare for the week. It is really important for me to have one day to just relax, clean my room and look up goals and plans for the following week so that I feel prepared, motivated and structured.

In the beginning, I mentioned that family is really important for me. My mom and dad are my supporters number 1 and 2. They do everything to support me and my siblings and I am so thankful for them. I have a brother and a sister and both are younger than me. It can be quite stressful sometimes but I love them. We also have a cat and a dog which are absolutely adorable.

I love to go shopping with my friends, visiting amusement parks, swimming pools or the beach in the summer. Sometimes we do movie nights.

In April 2023, I have visited the US, when I went to Orlando. My cheer team qualified for championships. After these two weeks in Orlando, I have decided that I wanted to do an exchange year in the US. And here we are.
