Hello, my name is Solji. I would like to say thank you to my host family for hosting me in America. I’m 15, and l entered high school this year.
My family consists of dad, mom, an older brother and me. My dad is a soldier. He works in the Air Force and now he works with U. S. Air Force. My mom is housewife. My older brother is a high school 12 th grader. My family is Christian family.
At the end of January of this year, I was selected from the Air Force Church for a vision trip to Los Angeles. I did a lot of things in L.A. I think I’ve been to almost every famous places. I also went to a Korean church in the U.S. where our church had a sisterhood relationship and we worshiped with them. It was a very special moment for me to worship and sing praises in English. Since then, I’ve been eager to learn more about American culture, church and history, so I decided to apply for this exchange student program.
My dream is to become a historian. I love learning about history. When I was young, I read many history comic books and books of historical figures. I like listening to pop music or R&B. I learned many instruments such as flute, Gayageum and piano. These days, I often think that I want to learn composition as a hobby. I like cooking, too. When I’m alone at home, I used to make spaghetti and eat it.
When I go to America, I want to do many activities with my host family. I’m going to tell you about the first generation idol in Korea.
I’m shy at first, but over time, I don’t have a problem getting along well. I am active and honest, and I study hard when I have a goal. I follow the rules well. I like funny things very much. The sound of my laughter in front of close friends is very funny.
Thank you again for letting me stay with you. I hope to see you soon!
