LETTER FROM Taiga

Taiga

Hi! My name is Taiga.I’m from a city in Osaka prefecture, Japan. My city is famous for Kofun (ancient tomb). The Kofun was selected for the world heritage list this year.

I live with my mother and grandmother. I am the only child and my parents were divorced.

My mother is an office worker at high school. She seems busy every day, so I do not get to spend much time with her. My grandmother was an elementary school teacher. She worked as a school teacher for 35 years then retired 11 years ago. Sometimes, some of her students visit her which is nice.

At my school, I speak up actively and share my opinion during class, as I think it is important. I am a member of the school swimming club. I think the daily practice is too hard, but I find swimming rewarding and I hope I get to swim while on the exchange program. One of my hobby is skiing. My parents often took me to ski trip in winter when I was in the junior high school. I especially like to slip down on the steep slopes. I hope I get to ski while on the exchange program with you! I love skiing, but my first interest is math.

As I love math, I usually study math a lot at home. I am especially strong in function and geometry and these make me excited. It can be difficult to find the solution, but I find it interesting to solve the questions.Do you think it is interesting?

I like science too. I especially like physics because the way of thinking is similar to math. I would like to take math and physics at the high school in the US, but looking forward to learn new things too.

Thank you for reading my self introduction. I hope I can try many new things and make many good memories with you and new friends in the US.

I am looking forward to meeting you!
