Hello, thank you very much for allowing me to live in the U.S. for a year.
My name is Yoonjoo, and I live in South Korea.
There are 5 members in my family, my parents and older sister, younger sister. My family lives in the capital of South Korea. My father is a soldier and he is serving our country. My mother is housewife and she gives love to my family. My two sisters and I have a big age difference, but we are all like close friends. My family often go to the movies on holidays.
I applied for this exchange student program because I thought it would be a good opportunity to experience culture and perspectives of other countries and to have a mind that fits in the global era. And I have not been abroad yet, so I applied right away because I wanted to have the opportunity to go to the U.S. as an exchange student.
Also, I want to participate in this exchange student program to experience the American culture and to become independent. I want to travel to famous places in U.S. Also, I want to try to raise a puppy in the yard, not in an apartment. Unlike Korean schools that wear uniforms, I know that American schools do not wear uniforms. I want to know why there is no history of wearing uniforms. I would like to learn and know the meaning of American Thanksgiving and Halloween. I want to share not only the famous BTS songs but also other good K-pop songs.
My personality is curious and bright. High self-esteem is my greatest advantage.
I like to play the flute. I love animals and children. These days I enjoy skateboarding. When I was in middle school, I went to ski camp in Jeju Island. I also rode a horse. I was scared before I rode on it, but actually I’ve had a lot of fun riding experience.
Thank you again for providing me with a homestay. Although I am not perfect in English, I will try my best to be a good member of my host family with good attitude. Thank you!
