Dear future host family,

Let me introduce myself in the best way I can.

I live with my mom, dad, brother and a dog named Michelle. I like to spend some time with my family, especially with my brother, my aunt and my grandparents.

Since I was very little I used to spend summer vacation with my grandparents either in the seaside or in the countryside while my parents were home working. During these summer months I’ve always spent so much time with my grandma who has always taught me how to cook every type of food, especially cakes.

Since I was a bit older I love to hear my grandparents’ stories about their lives when they were young and the Second World War was just finished.

I am kind of shy the first time you meet me, but then I become friendly and sweet.

I am quite nostalgic, so I think I’ll miss my routine, my friends, my family, everything about my life here. I think I have a nice character but sometimes I get upset easily, but also I am very nice, honest and extroverted, usually I familiarize myself well, but I haven’t had this type of experience yet.

In the past I had some short study trip, but I have never been away from home for such a long time. Although I am very excited to have this experience because it has always been my dream, it is also a challenge with myself. In fact I’m a bit afraid, but I know that this experience could be the best time of my life. I can’t wait to leave, to meet new people, a new country and a new family.

I like to spend time out with my friends, especially with my best friend. We like to hang out together, listening to music, chatting, but the best part is spending time deciding the outfit and our make-up.

Sometimes I like to be alone, listening to music and chilling out.

I like doing many types of sport like swimming, playing volleyball, walking, skiing, but also I like watching movies or tv series and taking care of myself.

I like tasting every type of food, and I eat almost everything.

I like spending time with my family, especially having dinner and spending holidays with them. I have a niece who is three years old and I have been babysitting her since she was very little. I love spending time with her, reading a book or watching cartoons. She’s so sweet and I have a great relationship with her because despite her age she’s very mature.

I like travelling, and visiting new countries or new cities, but also for example going to the beach and relaxing.

I would like to become more independent, to believe more in myself and to learn other traditions and the language. I am filled with excitement at the thought of becoming a part of your family, to share my culture with you, especially our traditions and our food 😉

Hopefully we will build a relationship that extends beyond my time as an exchange student.
