ICES High School Exchange Programs for American Students offer the students the opportunity to explore the world and learn about different cultures while learning about themselves.

Students who are ready to embark on their Study Abroad experience may choose the desired program and country right away, while high school students still in the process can learn more about student exchange by becoming a volunteer in our Global Ambassador Program for American High School students.

ICES High School Study Abroad Programs for American Students are available in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Oceania.

A trained local coordinator will place American students with pre-screened and carefully selected host families who have a genuine desire to share their culture.

High School Experience Abroad


Are you looking for a taste of what a study abroad program has to offer? The ICES High School Experience Abroad has almost all the benefits of a full year exchange program at a fraction of the cost.

American high school students choose their program length for 1-3 months, they live with a host family while studying in a local school in their host country. With flexible enrollment dates throughout the school year, this unique short-term program abroad will prove to be challenging and fun!

Become a Global Ambassador

ICES Global Ambassadors are high school students who provide peer support, friendship, and cultural expertise to exchange students living in their community. Global Ambassadors play a valuable role in helping each student quickly and successfully adapt and integrate into their host culture. We are looking for internationally-minded, responsible high school students who enjoy meeting new people and desire to make a difference in the world by building bridges between cultures.
