Dear host family,

First of all, I want to thank you for giving me your attention and having this letter in consideration for deciding if you will choose me as part of your family for the next academic year.

Now, I am going to talk about the best people in my world so far: my family. My mother is generous, protective, brave and is the person I like to talk to when I have problems. My father is protective as well, intelligent, loving and the funniest person I have ever spoken with. And last but not least, my brother, Carlos, is only two years younger than me, so we spend all day talking and watching series we both like, which is more or less half of the time. Carlos is also funny, loving and generous. During weekends, we all watch movies together and sometimes we cook dishes together such as fish, pasta or cake.

I suppose that the type of people my parents and my family are, have built me as the person I am today. When someone asks me about myself I struggle a lot thinking about it, because I think you can know a person better by their actions than by 3 or 4 different words such as adjectives. So, this last year I was with my friends in a mall, the day before we had been arguing, so we were not in the best mood, but a friend of mine feel uncomfortable with one person in the group, so I put my feelings aside and without doubting it I pick my friend and we have a walk in the mall meanwhile I talk to her for relaxing her and making her feel good.

I think that is the best memory for describing me. I love my family and friends (I am loving) and I tend to have a lot of personality, and even though I have a lot of patience when I run out of it, I don’t lose my mind, I think cleverly and I never try to hurt anyone’s feelings, and I am also talkative.

On the other hand, my weak points are my fear of spiders and bugs.

About my hobbies, I go to a choir and I really love singing. My favourite artist is Taylor Swift but I listen to all types of music: pop, rock and rap are my favorites. I also like reading and spending time with my family, especially with my grandparents. I love board games, shopping and travelling, but taking part in conversations is the thing I have done the most.

My favorite dishes are patatas a la importancia and stone-grilled meat, my favorite holiday is Christmas because I get to spend time with my cousins that I barely see, I have a lot of family traditions such as drinking hot chocolate the morning of New Year’s day and I also like Christmas because I receive presents I have been wanting all year long.

I have been wanting to live in the USA since I remember and I hope to learn a lot about the culture, the lifestyle and the traditions. I am especially excited about Thanksgiving, The Super Bowl and participating in a high-school musical and I am sure I would take full advantage of the experience and make my residence in the USA and in your home worth it.

I am looking forward to the next academic year and the joy this would bring me, thanks again for taking the time to read this and taking it into consideration.
