Dear future Host Family,

My name is Lucia, I’m 15 years old and my dream has always been to visit the USA. I travel a lot with my parents, we all love it. They got married in Las Vegas, but they’ve never taken me anywhere in the USA. Being able to go for a whole year to live the experience of learning and sharing their customs and culture with an American family is a unique opportunity in my life. Traveling and meeting new places and people is one of the things I like the most.

I am a very kind girl and always willing with whatever I can. I love making new friends and spending time with them. I think I’m going to make a lot of friends there, especially through sport, as it brings people together and it’s something I love. I go on any plan with my friends, because I have a good time just being with them. I also love spending time with my family, they are the best, we do all kinds of things together such as watch movies, go for walks, play board games, play sports out in the garden… I love spending time with my mom, we talk about everything and we go shopping, she helps me with everything I need, she is the best. My dad is super fun, we spend all day playing sports in the garden and he is my trainer in wakeboard. Thanks to him I have reached the point where I am in this sport. He taught me everything I know about sports. He also thought me how to ride dirt bikes and all I know about cars something I like too. I love spending time with him. I couldn’t have a better father. I also have a brother. We have a good bond and we always help each other with everything. We spend a lot of time playing out in the garden or playing video games, but I prefer going outside. I hope to have a good relationship with my host parents and be able to do this type of activities with them and have a great time.

As I´ve already said, I love sports, all kind of sports, but the ones I like the most are the water sports (wakeboard, wake surf, surfing) Although I would love to try other types of sports such as baseball or flag football. Sports help me to relax and be more focused, that’s why I like them so much, and I always make time to train.

I am a girl who loves nature, but especially the sea. In fact, I love marine biology. I want to study and dedicate myself to that. I love turtles, they are my favorite animal, but I like all kinds of animals, I have a little dog that is super cute. I also like to help with tasks that improve my natural environment, such as cleaning forests or beaches.

I am a studious girl, although there are a couple of subjects that are difficult for me, but I end up passing them. I like school because I can spend time with friends and we help each other with the academy part.

I think this experience is going to help me see how other parts of the world works, their culture, their daily life, what they like to do, and also I can show them what we do in Spain and our culture. I also think this experience is going to help me get more mature and independent, that is one of the things I do this for.

I want to thank my host family for giving me the opportunity of making one of my biggest dreams come true. I hope we get to know each other really well and make good connections and make this experience unforgettable.
