Dear Host Family,

I am so glad to have the opportunity to spend the next year with you and live in a new place. There are 4 people in my family — my parents, my older brother and me. We are very close and I like spending time with them, we watch movies together, cook dinner. We also often go to museums. I like that we can always talk openly with each other and support each other’s dreams.

I would describe myself as a responsible, friendly and reliable person. I’m usually more reserved at first, but then I find a common language and make friends. I tend to be patient, organized, and attentive to detail. One of the things I’m working on is being more assertive. I always strive to learn and develop, and I see this exchange as an opportunity to challenge myself and learn something new about myself.

I have many hobbies and interests that I am passionate about. I like to watch movies and discuss what I’ve watched, read books and comics of various genres, and play video games. I am also interested in the cultures of different countries. Some of my favorite dishes are pasta with minced meat, Greek salad and moussaka. I really enjoy celebrating New Year and birthday with my family. Our favorite traditions are decorating the Christmas tree together, as well as cooking a birthday cake together.

I hope to learn a lot from this exchange experience. I’m looking forward to improving my English language skills, immersing myself in a new culture and making new friends. I want to learn more about American history and also see how people live in another country. I am ready to challenge myself, develop as a person and understand the world more deeply.
