Dear future host family,

I would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself to you and to thank you very much for the fact that we will perhaps soon be sharing time together and that you are making it possible for me to experience this cultural exchange!

My name is Samantha, I will be 16 years old when I start my year abroad and live together with my parents and our dog in a house in southern Germany. My hobbies include reading, reading and reading, but also stand up paddling. Among other things, I am interested in foreign languages (especially English), cultures as well as getting to know other countries and their traditions. In my free time, I like to meet with my friends and we like to go to the cinema, go swimming in the summer or meet to read. I also like to go on excursions with my family, such as bike rides or bowling. I also have a very close relationship with my grandma, we go on vacation together 1–2 times a year, which has already allowed me to get to know different countries and cultures. My interest in a stay abroad was aroused by a seminar at school. But since I also like the English language and have a relatively good command of it, I would like to deepen this and experience it in everyday life. So it was clear to me that I would like to spend some time abroad. When I think about my year abroad, I hope for a warm and open welcome in the family and look forward to meeting new friends and thereby possibly finding new and interesting hobbies.

Since I am open to new things, I would be happy to experience your everyday life and way of life. I hope I could convey a little bit of me to you with this letter and have aroused your interest.
