First and foremost, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for considering me as a potential member of your family. I understand how important it is to find the right person to welcome into your home, and I am truly grateful for this opportunity to introduce myself and share a bit about who I am.
My name is Saul, I am 15 years old, and I live in a city in northern Spain. I’m currently studying at a public high school. My family is very important to me, and I’d like to share a little about them. My father and I bond over our passion for basketball, often spending time playing or watching games together. My mother is kind and supportive, always taking care of my sister and me. My 9-year-old sister is imaginative and friendly, and she always brings joy to our home.
I would describe myself as curious, hardworking, and sensible. I enjoy learning and am always enthusiastic to expand my knowledge. One of my passions is basketball, which has taught me teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. I also have a deep interest in science, mathematics, and technology, as they allow me to explore and understand the world better. While I consider myself polite and respectful, I know I might seem a bit shy when meeting new people. However, I see it as an opportunity for personal growth in increasing my confidence by stepping out of my comfort zone. I think I would fit perfectly in this program because I am a motivated, responsible and open-minded person. I am excited about experiencing a new culture, meeting new people and broadening my horizons. I am confident that I could contribute positively to your family, while being able to learn and grow through this experience.
In my day-to-day life, science and basketball are my main interests. Playing basketball keeps me active and allows me to connect with friends through a sport I love. I am also passionate about studying subjects like physics and mathematics. During my free time, I enjoy reading, programing and video editing, hanging out with friends, or watching TV, whether it’s a series, a film, or YouTube videos.
As for my expectations, I am really excited about the opportunity to live a year in a new country and immerse myself in a different culture. I am looking forward to learning about new traditions and seeing the world from a new perspective. I also hope to improve academically, by improving my English level and learning more about science and technology. In addition, I could increase my independence, helping me to grow personally and academically.
