Let me introduce myself and my family. I live with my parents, my older brother, and my older sister. We also have two Border Collie dogs named Carrera and Richie. They are full of energy and bring happiness to our home. We often go for walks together, and I enjoy playing with them. Taking care of them has taught me responsibility.
I think my personality is energetic, curious, and sometimes a little sensitive. I like to try new things and discover new ideas. When I go to a new place, I enjoy looking around carefully and noticing details. I also like spending quiet time drawing, reading, or listening to music. My friends tell me that I can make people laugh and brighten the mood, and that makes me happy.
One of my strengths is that when I become interested in something, I want to learn it right away. For example, I started baking by looking at recipes and practicing. At first I made mistakes, but little by little I improved and was able to make sweets that my family and friends enjoyed. I also became interested in painting and tried it in my free time. These experiences showed me that even if I am not good at something at first, I can get better if I keep trying.
Sports are also a part of my life. In junior high school, I joined the handball club. We practiced almost every day after school and sometimes on weekends. It was not always easy, but I learned how important teamwork and effort are. I also like running long distances. I have taken part in district marathon competitions, which was a challenge but something I am proud of. Running helps me refresh my mind and reduce stress. Sometimes I also play volleyball with my friends for fun.
Cooking and baking are hobbies that I especially love. At home, I often help prepare dinner, especially when my mom comes home late. Our family values eating together, because dinner time is when we talk about our day. I also enjoy baking sweets, especially chocolate desserts. Sometimes I invite my friends over and share what I make. While abroad, I would like to share Japanese food with my host family and also learn how to cook American dishes. I think cooking together will be a good way to understand each other’s cultures.
Besides cooking and sports, I like drawing and painting. It makes me feel calm and allows me to show my feelings. I also play video games with friends, usually on weekends. It is a fun way to relax and laugh together.
As for food, I like Japanese dishes such as sushi and grilled fish, and I also love cakes and desserts. I do not like mushrooms. I also have allergies to shrimp, crab, squid, and salmon roe. When I was a child, I had an allergic reaction to salmon roe, so now I am careful. I always check ingredients before eating. I can manage these allergies on my own, so please do not worry.
Through this exchange program, my hope is to experience a new culture and see the world from different points of view. I want to meet new people, make friends, and learn about life in another country. I also want to find new dreams for my future by challenging myself. I know it may not always be easy, but I believe every experience will help me grow.
Thank you very much for welcoming me into your home. I am excited to meet you, spend time together, and learn many things. I look forward to sharing wonderful memories with you during my stay.
