Dear Future Host Family,
My name is Rafaela, I’m 17 years old and I come from a loving family. I live with my parents and my younger brother, who is eight years old. We love spending time together going out for walks, eating together, playing, laughing, and most importantly, we like to grow spiritually as a family. Every Sunday, we go to church and participate in activities that help us strengthen our faith. These moments are very special to me and are a big part of who I am.
I would describe myself as organized, disciplined, responsible, curious and very hard working to always give my best in everything I do, especially on school, health, faith and relationships. I’m always willing to learn more and improve my skills. At the same time, I value peaceful moments where I can take care of myself, reflect, pray, or simply recharge.
I’m passionate about dancing, fitness, and cooking, especially healthy and delicious meals. I go to the gym regularly, enjoy playing volleyball, and I like being outdoors, especially surrounded by nature. I care deeply about my physical and emotional well- being, so I make sure to eat well, stay active, and keep my mind and spirit uplifted.
I enjoy listening to music (electronic, pop and R&B are my favorites), and in my free time I like watching films and series (romantic comedies, action and scientific documentaries). I’m also very interested in school subjects like history, geopolitics and global cultures, and I hope to one day work in the area of international business.
This exchange program means more to me than just going to a new country. It’s a chance to grow in wisdom, maturity and knowledge. I hope to be welcomed into a home where faith is lived and shared, where health and kindness are part of the routine, and where I can build sincere connections with your family. I want to learn from your way of life and share mine with you through small things like cooking a traditional dish together, learning about each other’s culture, or simply spending time as a family. I’m truly excited for this journey and grateful for the possibility of being part of the American way of life.
Sincerely,
Rafaela
