Dear host family,

I’m Camilla and in January 2026 I’m going to start my experience as an exchange student.

I live in a small town in the north of Italy, with my parents, my brother, my sister and our three dogs. I love spending time with my family, I think we have a special bond that is different from any other relationship I have in my life, they have always believed in me and they help me every time I need them. We often go on vacation together, especially in summer, when we go to Sardinia, which is my favorite place here in Italy. I’ve also travelled abroad, I’ve been to London four times, to Egypt twice, and I also went to Malta with my friends two years ago. I love travelling because it gives me the chance to immerse myself in different cultures and it offers endless opportunities for growth and understanding.

In Italy there are many festivities and I usually celebrate Christmas, Epiphany and Easter having lunch with all my relatives; however, on New Year’s Eve and Halloween I prefer staying with my group of friends. I can’t wait to learn about new traditions! I really want to expand my horizons, understanding different cultures, and appreciating the beauty of diversity.

I play volleyball four times a week, and I’ve played it since I was twelve years old, I love this sport because it gives me the opportunity to build friendships and set goals with my teammates. I would love to continue playing volleyball during my exchange program, if it will be possible. I’m a sporty person and I also like trying new activities. I’ve practiced tennis, paddle, badminton, swimming and skiing, but I would continue to explore different sports and activities to keep myself active and engaged.

In my free time I often hang out with my friends, but I don’t have too much time because school takes up much of it; I’m attending a scientific high school and I am very ambitious about grades, so I study a lot to achieve my goals. I want to work abroad, and this is one reason why I think this experience is important for me and my future.

Sometimes I can be touchy but I don’t get angry easily. I consider myself a very determined person. I know this experience can be difficult, especially at the beginning, but I am ready to challenge myself and grow through it, because that is what I’ve always dreamt about.
