Dear Future Host Family,
I have an older sister and a cat. I enjoy spending time with my family—we often play video games and board games together, and sometimes we go shopping. We laugh a lot, and I feel happy when we can share these moments. I would describe myself as kind and friendly. I really love my friends! At first, I can be a little shy and nervous, but once I get to know someone, I love talking and spending time together. My friends often say that I am cheerful and easy to get along with, and I try to be someone who makes people feel comfortable and happy.
When I was in elementary school, I did cheerleading, and in junior high school, I joined the badminton club. I don’t play sports much now, but I still enjoy staying active and trying different activities with friends. In my free time, I love listening to music and singing, and I often go to karaoke with my friends. I also enjoy watching movies, shopping for clothes, and relaxing at home with my cat. Sometimes I help my family by cooking simple meals or baking sweets, and I feel proud when they enjoy what I make. My favorite food is hamburgers, but I love food in general and I am always excited to try new dishes from different countries. My favorite season is winter because of Christmas. I love the festive atmosphere, and every year, my family and I make Christmas cake and enjoy a delicious meal together. I also love snow activities such as sledding and playing in the snow, and I enjoy wearing cute winter outfits.
I’m excited to experience American high school life! I want to learn about different cultures and try things abroad that I wouldn’t have the chance to do in Japan. I hope to make new friends, take part in school events, and create wonderful memories with my host family. I also look forward to sharing Japanese culture and traditions, such as cooking Japanese food or talking about our family customs. I believe this exchange will help me grow, become more independent, and discover more about myself and the world. I want to challenge myself with new experiences, improve my English, and learn how people in another country think and live. Most of all, I hope to build warm relationships with people I meet and carry those connections with me for the rest of my life.
