Dear Host Family,

My name is Laura, and I would like to introduce myself by telling you about my family. My family is quite large, partly because my parents live separately and both have their own families. I live with my mother, my stepfather, and their daughter. When I visit my father, I stay with him, my stepmother, and two half-siblings. Both sides of my family share one passion – we love dogs. At my mother’s home we have a small dog, while at my father’s home there is a big Doberman, which looks almost like a small horse. Another thing that connects us is traveling. Since I was little, I have traveled around the world with my family. We love escaping to warm places in the winter, and we often spend our summers by the sea or go abroad together. I also spend a lot of time with my grandparents. They are my biggest supporters, and I truly appreciate the love and wisdom they give me. I enjoy traveling with them as well, and our trips together have given me some of my best memories.

If I were to describe myself, the first thing I would say is that I am a very extroverted person. I truly enjoy meeting new people, making friends, and having fun. I love adrenaline and challenges. I consider myself ambitious and hardworking, with clear goals and high expectations for myself. I always try to give my best and believe that with effort I can achieve what I dream of. At the same time, I am kind and always ready to help people who might need support.

My hobbies are a big part of my life. I enjoy playing golf, swimming, and riding a four-wheeler. My favorite season is summer. I don’t like winter because I’m sensitive to the cold and my hands often freeze. For many years, dance was also a very important part of my life. I also love baking and cooking, and I often prepare something sweet for my family and friends. It makes me happy to create meals or desserts that bring joy to others. In my free time, I love to spend time outside with friends rather than staying at home on my phone. One of my favorite places to go is the library, where I often study after school. Some of my favorite foods are sushi and pasta, and I really enjoy trying new dishes whenever I can. I also absolutely love any kind of celebration, whether it is birthdays, Christmas, or Halloween. I enjoy preparing everything for the parties and I am always excited to participate in them.

From this experience, I hope to gain much more than just improving my English. I would like to meet many new people, get to know American culture, and truly live in it. Speaking English every day will help me grow and communicate in a language that is used all over the world. Most of all, I want to create unforgettable memories, learn from this adventure, and one day tell others about everything I experienced and discovered during my time in the United States. I am especially looking forward to sharing everyday life with you—whether it is family dinners, small traditions, or simple moments together, because I believe those will become the memories that stay in my heart forever.
