Dear host family,
I’m Giada and I’m 16. In my family there are 2 people and a pet. My mum is 52 years old and she’s a bank clerk. My dad is 60 years old and he’s a maintainer in a factory. My dog is Leone, he’s 3 years old and he’s a poodle. I live with my mum because my parents are separated but I also see my dad almost every day. I don’t spend much time with them because we have a lot of things to do all 3 but when we have time we go for a walk together or we go on some trips. My dog instead I take it out all the days and he’s always at home with me.
I’m a very sporty girl, extrovert but at the same time also a little reserved, ready to make a new experience, generous and stubborn.
I’ve been playing soccer since I was 11. Football is my passion, I can’t help it, whenever I play I feel well. I train 3 times a week, I feel good in my team and have a great relationship with my two coaches. Travelling is another of my great passions and usually during the holidays I go to visit new places with my parents. Recently I went to Spain, France, England, Ireland and of course Italy. I can’t wait to get to the USA and maybe have the opportunity to visit many new places. Also I like playing volleyball, ping pong, skiing, swimming and ice-skating. The last thing, I like to spend a lot of time with children; in fact every summer my Parish organizes a summer camp for children where we are together all day and do different fun and useful activities.
My favourite foods are poke, pizza, sushi, pasta and cutlets with potatoes. I love celebrating Christmas and Easter with my family while the other holidays with my friends like carnival. Usually on Christmas Eve I spend it with my family from my mom; my grandmother and my aunt prepare all the food and my cousins and I help them; then we all spend the evening together and then we go to mass. On Christmas Day my dad and I go to the other grandma’s house and have lunch with her and our family. As tradition, gifts can never be missing! At Easter we are always in company but we celebrate it in a much simpler and quieter way than Christmas.
From this experience I hope to improve my character, learn to accept the things that don’t go my way, enjoy the experience 100% and improve the English skills. I would like to have a family that is helpful and kind with me and with whom I can have fun and do new things. Thank you for reading my application, I hope you liked me and that I have intrigued you!
See you soon, Giada
