Hello, future host family!

My name is Roberta, and I am 16 years old at the moment I am writing this letter. I will turn 17 in January, and I am excited about the opportunity to be part of your family during my exchange program. I live with my mom, my brother, and my stepdad, along with a pet that brings a lot of joy to our home. Although we don’t spend much time together during the week due to our busy schedules, we love to plan family trips, explore new places, play video games especially FIFA and enjoy going to sports games, rooting for our favorite teams while having a great time together. These experiences strengthen our bond and create lasting memories.

Regarding my personality, I feel like I am a bit of a mix of emotions. Some days I am quite cheerful and lively, while on other occasions, I prefer to be more reserved and introspective. Generally, I believe I am on the reserved side, but I am sure I will open up and enjoy this new environment during my exchange experience. My strengths include being empathetic and creative, which often helps me connect with others and develop meaningful relationships. On the other hand, I struggle with procrastination from time to time, and I can be a bit insecure about new situations. Still, I am constantly working on improving these aspects of myself and becoming a more confident person.

In my free time, I practice various sports, with a main focus on soccer, futsal, and athletics, which I actively participate in at school. I enjoy the thrill of competition and the sense of achievement that comes with personal improvement. I love learning new sports as well, and I am always eager to try out different activities. My favorite food is sushi, but I also can’t resist a good pizza, especially when shared with friends. I look forward to exploring new cuisines during my time with you and perhaps even trying my hand at cooking some traditional dishes from your culture. I am excited to share precious moments together, learn about your family traditions, and participate in any special events that bring all of us together.

I hope to make new friends and discover more about the culture of your country, immersing myself fully in all experiences that come my way. My ultimate goal is to live the American dream, embracing every challenge and joy it offers. I am looking forward to this amazing experience with your family and can’t wait to meet you!
