LETTER FROM Alexander

Alexander

Dear future Host Family,

I am very excited about the opportunity to be a part of your family for my exchange experience. I would love to introduce myself and share a little about who I am.

My name is Alexander, I come from Slovakia, where I live with my family. I have an older sister who currently lives in England, and I love visiting her during the holidays. We have a very nice relationship together. At home, I also have a dog, a small white Pomeranian named Amor, who is a big part of our family. We all love him very much. We enjoy spending time together as a family, whether it’s traveling or celebrating holidays, which in my family are mostly Christian traditions.

As a person, I would describe myself as an extrovert and a talkative person, I am not shy to ask questions. I enjoy meeting new people, and one of my strongest traits is empathy – always try to understand and connect with others. On the other hand, I find it hard to stay still; I always need to be doing something active or productive.

My biggest passions are sports and traveling. I really enjoy these. I enjoy running and working out and I also train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. When I am not training, I like going out with friends and experiencing new places. I also love food – my favorites are lasagna and Asian or Indian cuisine, but I enjoy trying almost anything. I would be happy to cook something for you when I’m in the United States.

One of the main reasons I chose this exchange stay in the USA is because I want to improve my English, meet new people and to make friends and experience the atmosphere of a high school in the United States and truly immerse myself in American culture. I am really excited to experience it all. Studying in the United States will give me the opportunity to experience a different approach to teaching and will help me grow both academically and personally.

I am very grateful to you for this opportunity and the chance you give me, for all that you do for students like me, and I look forward to meeting you soon. I cannot wait to meet you and to get to know you.

With kind regards and see you hopefully soon,

Alex
