LETTER FROM Anju

Anju

Dear Host Family,

First, I’d like to introduce my family. I live with my parents, two older sisters, and a dog named Sakurako. My parents are very caring and always support me in anything I try to do. My sisters are kind and often help me as well. One of them enjoys badminton, and she sometimes teaches me how to play better. My dog is also very special to me and brings me comfort every day. Since everyone in my family is often busy, we don’t always spend a lot of time together, but we have a strong bond. When we do, we enjoy watching movies, eating meals, and talking about our day. We also like to travel as a family, and those trips create wonderful memories for us.

As for my personality, I tend to be a little quiet when I first meet new people because I sometimes feel shy in a new situation. However, once I get to know them, I become more talkative and cheerful. I am thoughtful and always try to be kind to others. At school, I often notice when someone is left out and try to talk with them so they don’t feel lonely. I sometimes overthink things, especially when I want to do something perfectly, but I also try to stay positive and open-minded. My friends tell me that I am easy to talk to, and I think this is because I listen carefully and try to understand their feelings.

My hobbies include watching anime, reading comics, drawing, and spending time with animals. I especially enjoy drawing illustrations, and I spend hours at my desk practicing and trying new styles. I use YouTube and books to learn more and improve my skills, and anime and comics often inspire my art. I also like playing sports, even though I’m not very athletic. Volleyball and badminton are my favorites. I play badminton with my sister, and sometimes we go to the gym together. In winter, I go snowboarding with my family, and now I really enjoy it. Sports help me stay active and are a fun way to spend time with friends and family. Some of my favorite foods are pasta, sushi, and ramen. I also enjoy trying new dishes and learning about food from different countries. Holidays and special times with family and friends are very important to me because they make me feel connected and happy.

During my study abroad experience, I hope to learn more about different cultures and ways of life. I want to improve my communication skills and confidence in English, and I am excited to make new friends. I look forward to joining family activities and experiencing daily life in another country, because I believe those everyday experiences are very meaningful. I also want to share my own culture, such as Japanese food, traditions, and anime, with the people I meet. By doing this, I hope we can understand each other better. I believe this exchange will help me grow as a person and give me many new perspectives for the future.

Thank you very much for opening your home to me. I really appreciate the kindness of welcoming me into your family, and I am looking forward to meeting you and creating many wonderful memories together.
