Dear host family,

My name is Carla, and I am currently 16 years old. I live in Germany, right now, but I also lived on Mallorca for five years when I was four. In 2018 my family and I moved back to Germany. 2019 was a very hard year for me because my dad passed away. I have three older half-brothers, who also live in my city, so I see them quite often. My mom and I live in a house with my little dog Coco. My favourite sport is volleyball, which I love playing in my free time. I also enjoy acting dancing and being creative. On weekends I often have volleyball games or spent time with my friends. I enjoy baking and cooking because it gives me the chance to try out new things.

One of my biggest dreams is to become an actress. Ever since I was little, I have been interested in acting. I love slipping into different roles and to put myself in other emotions. This is also one of many reasons why I want to do an exchange year. I really like the language and want to act in American movies. Another reason I want to participate in an exchange year program is to experience a new country and culture. I have the feeling that I need a break from my hometown. Don’t get me wrong, I live in a beautiful city, I just want to see new things.

On a typical school day I wake up at 6.15 am, get ready, and take out my dog for a walk. After that I eat breakfast together with my mother. I ride my bike to school where I have my first lesson. During the lunch break I eat something with my friends. In the afternoon I drive back home and after I have done my homework I go to my volleyball training. In the evening I eat dinner with my mom.

That was a little insight into my life I would be happy about a host family who shares this adventure with me. I am excited to meet you soon.
