Dear host family:
My name is Carmen and I’m so excited of having the opportunity to be an exchange student in the United States. I’m going to share a little bit about myself, a little bit of my life, my wishes, and expectations for this experience.
I’m from Madrid, the capital of Spain. I’m in the 9th grade. I love my school and studying because I enjoy improving and learning new things, and of course being with my friends and my teachers at school.
I’m person who appreciate being with my loved ones and sharing time with them, so apart from school what I like to do in my free time is hang out with my family and friends. I live in two different houses because my parents are separated, and I spend each week with a different one. My family consists of my mother, my father, my stepbrother, and my stepfather. At my mother’s house, I also live with my grandmother.
I describe myself as an extrovert, kind, social, loyal, fun, empathetic person, and I’m someone who makes an effort in everything always. But I am also proud, sensitive, and a seeker of justice.
One thing that is essential in my life are sports, I greatly enjoy doing sports because I think it’s so important to stay healthy, to be entertained, to improve, to have discipline, and of course meet people who like the same sport as I do. My favorite sports are gymnastics, dancing, and skiing and they are a very important part of my life, and I love to try new sports, so I would love to practice different sports in my exchange year.
My passions are like I said before spending time with my family and friends, sports, school… But I have more passions and interests such as traveling, that is a thing that I absolutely love because I really enjoy learning new cultures, meeting new people, trying new food… I also love listening to music, shopping, watching series and movies, fashion, cooking, reading… And I’m eager to learn about your culture and traditions.
During this experience I hope to share special moments with my host family, trying typical meals, meeting new people, improving my English, exploring the city, celebrating the holidays or simply talking.
Thank you for opening your home to me. I’m so excited to get to know you!
