Dear future host family,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend ten wonderful months In your country with you. I am really looking forward to it and I am very excited to get to know you. My name is Charlie and I am currently 16 years old. I would like to go to the United States for ten months. I am looking forward to getting to know the American high school and in general
the American way of life. Maybe I can also show you (as my future host family) some aspects of German culture. During my time in the U.S., I hope to make close friends and, of course, a wonderful host family that I would like to stay in touch with when I get back to Germany. Besides that, I would also like to improve my English. The most important reason why I wanted to become an exchange student ls that I love seeing new things and especially meeting new people and maklng new frlends.

My hometown, where I live. Here I live together with my parents, my little sister and my dog Marley. My father ls a plastic surgeon and my mother is a beautician and often works at home.

I have a good relationship with all members of my family and I like to undertake thing them.

Me and my family always traveled a lot to different countries, but the US has always fascinated me because there are so many different things. For example, there are these big cities like New York or Los Angeles, but also regions like Texas with big ranches or wonderful forests and exotic plants like in Oregon, Hawaii or Florida. In front of the hall, I would like to get to know the nature, animals and culture of your country.

After the summer vacations I will attend the 10th grade. My favorite subjects are sports, biology and of course English. I think our school system is very different from yours and I am very curious how your system works. In high school I hope to choose some interesting subjects like architecture or marine biology, because here In Germany we don’t have such
subjects.

I am currently doing tennis and I really love it. I started 3 years ago and I love it since my first lesson. I have practice 2 times a week. But not only tennis interests me but also American sports like American football, surfing or baseball I would love to try.

In my free time I often meet with friends, hear music, play video games, go to the movies or do something fun outside. One of the things I try to do in my free time is programming games, which I really enjoy, but I still have to learn how to do. I also regularly go for walks with my dog Marley which is always good between all the studying. Of course I also like to watch movies and series, I prefer to watch comedies or fantasy because I always laugh at
these and find them super exciting. I also love nature and the sea, which I always enjoy exploring. lt would be great if I could try something new while I am in the US, for example join a club at high school or something typlcal Amerlcan.

I would describe myself as an optimistic, open-minded and reliable person. I always try to do my best and not give up prematurely. I am also very talkative, but I am also a good listener.
