Almost two years ago, I told my parents that I wanted to study one year in the United States. Right know, I am thrilled to be writing this letter to my future host family. Going to the United States will be a dream come true for me and, I hope, a very good experience for both, my host family and me. I am very excited to meet you, to go to the High School, meet new people there and make new friends. I think that I am mature for my age but I hope to become more mature and responsible after this experience.

We are 5 people and 2 dogs in my family: my father, my mother, my two siblings and me. My father’s name is Jose, I love to play board games or watch films with him. My mother’s name is Nuria, I enjoy going on walks with her and our two dogs, playing table tennis and cooking. I have 2 older siblings, Noemi is the oldest, she doesn’t live with us anymore, she lives in another province but I like to visit her and to go to the cinema with her. Sergio is my brother’s name, I think he is very funny and I laugh a lot when I’m around him. My two dogs are named Lily and Piki, Lily is a 5 year-old french bulldog and Piki, who is also 5 years old, is a Yorkshire. They both love to lie in the sun and I love playing with them.

Now I would like to introduce myself. My name is Daniela, as you might know, and I am now 14 years old but in April I will turn 15 .My favorite colors are purple, blue, pink and white, and I love animals. I really like sports, I have practiced swimming, skating, figure skating, and 4 years ago I started practicing kick boxing. In summer I practice surf and skiing or snowboarding in winter. During the following years I want to try tennis, volleyball and maybe figure skating again, because they are sports that I like to play in school. Another thing I want to do in the following year is volunteer, I would like to volunteer in an animal shelter near my area. I also love to hang out with my friends, spending time, having fun, do activities and even going to high school with them. When I go to the United Stated, I will miss them, but I don’t think that will be a problem because I am willing to make new friends and meeting new people. When I have free time, I usually listen to music, use my phone and at night before going to bed I like to read. Another thing I do if I can is cook or bake, I would love to show my culture cooking typical dishes from Spain.

At the school, my favorite subjects are PE, Biology although I find it hard to study and English. I don’t really like studying and I’m trying to study more to improve my grades but I am doing good at school and I like learning new things. A few years ago I was not really with my school things, notes, homework, and that kind of things but I have been working on that and I’m proud I have improved.

Before finishing the letter, I would like to thank you for reading my letter and giving me and other students the chance of studying there, living new experiences and ,for some of us, making possible our dream comes true.
