Hi my future host family.

My name is Danilo, and I am 16. I live in the main city of Montenegro. My city lays on 5 rivers, and its advantage is its closeness, of about one hour, to the seaside and the mountains where I love to ski. I attend general secondary school. With my mom, I live in a flat in an urban part of the city, what I really adore since it makes my life much easier. As me and my mom live alone, and split our obligations, mine are to go to the market, cleaning my room, unloading the dishwasher, and various other things if needed. My mother is a caring, warm and real woman. She works as a professor at the university.

I also consider my grandmother and grandfather a close family because I have lived with them for some time. Except just my dad who works in police, my extended family is made up of a lot of my beloved relatives who I love spending time with. What I really like doing with my family is going with them on vacations when we all have enough time. Except that, holidays family meetings can’t pass without some games which we traditionally play, and which are played from the youngest to the oldest members. Also who makes a big part of my life are my friends.

I would like to tell you about the name ‘host family’. In that name, I focus more on the word family since I consider you exactly as I will be a part of that team for 10 months.

Confirmation of the fact that I am curious is that I love travelling, adore watching detective films, experiencing new adventures and mostly how I have a strong wish to come to your country.

My plans for my career are to finish my high school and enroll in a university. What I want to do as a profession is unknown to me since I want to know a lot about everything. Also one of my wishes for my life is to travel as much as possible, and to see the world. What eases my mind is playing table tennis with my friends, as I release my excess energy that way. When we have enough time, me and my friends like to organize a party, or go to someone’s house and watch films or play games together. Also what I am very good at is adaptation as new environments trigger my creativity.

My expectations for this year that I will be spending there are all about seeing new kind of world there. I want to see new cultures, meet new people and see their points of view on different things and topics. I want to work on my education, which I consider very important. My wish is to see your customs and dishes on a daily basis and exchange mine with you and others. Why I would like all that because I want to expand my views on things and to in future help my country develop even more since America offers a bunch of different opportunities to learn from. Due to my country’s traditionality, which has good and some bad sides which includes many stereotypes and prejudices about different things, which I would like to change in this social community. What would help me do that is exactly seeing how everything is like there and familiarizing with that surrounding and ways of solving those kinds of problems. If I was in your family I would enjoy showing you my rituals and customs, especially the festive ones.
