Dear host family, please, first of all, let me thank you for taking some of your time to read through my presentation letter. I hope to be able to describe in the most accurate way possible.

My name is Diego, I am 16 and I live in a region in the center of Italy. As a teenager, I don’t spend a lot of time with my parents, but we still have a good relationship. Instead, sometimes I play with my cat Hiro, challenging him in patience trials, or simply chasing after him.

I cosndier myself as a good listener, I am emotional and
empathetic, but even strong-willed and with a good self-esteem. When things are going a little bad, I tend to become very serious, but not angry. I also think that I am good at adapting to unusual situations.

Talking about hobbies, I practice Kung Fu, and I like it also because it makes me vent my energies. For the same reason, when nobody’s home, I put the music on a bluetooth speaker and I start a wild and instinctive dance. In everyday life I spend some time thinking about the world, and it often happens that my friends are costricted to hear some theories that came up in my mind. I am actually very drawn to the spiritual things. Sometimes I love spending time walking in the woods, with no phone disturbing, just living the adventure and exploring. I am currently writing a book, a story which started growing in my mind some years ago, and since I like writing, I like reading too. However, when friends ask me to play some video games I don’t always answer “No”, because I think that videogames are a form of art, and it’s good to spend some time playing. Oh, and I love music.

I really don’t know what I must expect, or what I must hope for form this experience. The US are so big, and there are so many people. Every kind of experience could be waiting for me from the other side of the ocean, and I don’t particularly care about living the most beautiful 5 months of my life, I just want it to be an intense and unique moment.
