Dear host family,
My name is Eva, and I’m absolutely thrilled and grateful for the opportunity that has been given to me. I come from a city is east Spain. Ever since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of living abroad, so now that I’m older I want to step out of my comfort zone, embracing life at its fullest. I greatly look forward to the possibility of joining your family.
I come from a close-knit family where we always look out for each other, even when we’re debating over who should’ve fed our guinea pigs or who gets the last piece of cake. Still, we always make up with lots of laughs and love. I live with both of my parents and my younger sister, who is also my best friend. We’re a talkative family, even so, I love spending time with them, going for a walk, cooking pizza (which is my favorite food, along with pasta), or just enjoying ourselves for a while. In my family Christmas and Easter aren’t just holidays, they’re full of love and endless family gatherings. I’m also pretty close with my extended family, especially with my older cousins and my grandma.
About me, I’m a 16-year-old who is truly carrying and passionate. I’m also an organized, committed, and empathetic person who’s always down for every type of talk. I’m a huge fan of sports, specifically basketball, although now I’m sidelined due to an injury, however, I have found my way to keep connected working as a referee. When I’m not on the court, I’m probably listening to music; watching a good film or, less probable, hanging out with friends. I listen to all types of music, from Taylor Swift to Travis Scott. In my friend group I tend to be the responsible but funny friend, who’s always there for anyone who needs it. That said, public speaking isn’t exactly my favorite thing, I don’t really appreciate being the center of attention.
From this experience I’m fully excited about the opportunity to grow as a person, meet new people and create meaningful bonds. I’m eager to get back to playing basketball when I can in the US, and I want to make the most of this opportunity by visiting new places and embracing all positive things that come my way. On the other hand, I believe I’d fit in well with your family because I’m responsible, adaptable, and always ready to pitch in when needed. I might come across as reserved, but once I open up, you’ll soon find I can be fun. I’m also good at keeping things organised and staying on top of responsibilities, which comes from being a bit of a perfectionist. I’d love to learn about you and your traditions, share some of mine, and create unforgettable memories together.
Thank you so much for taking the time to consider my application. I’m truly excited about the possibility of joining your family and looking forward to starting this new chapter.
