  3. San Luis Coastal Unified School District – Morro Bay High School
Description

San Luis Coastal Unified School District represents the communities of Avila, Edna Valley, Los Osos, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo and currently has an enrollment of approximately 7,500 students. Small neighborhood schools are a hallmark of the District where students are educated from preschool through twelfth grade and a world-class adult school program offers unique, life-improving courses to thousands of community members.

The community overwhelmingly supported efforts to modernize our schools through the successful passage of a facility bond in 2014. SLCUSD is currently in the process of modernizing the two comprehensive high schools - Morro Bay High and San Luis Obispo High. In addition, bond funds have allowed the District to revitalize multiple school sites, install new playgrounds, repave parking lots, install energy efficient LED lights throughout the district, and implement a new phone system with vastly improved capacity.

Morro Bay is a coastal city in California. It's known for Morro Rock, an ancient volcanic mound at the end of Morro Rock Beach. The rock sits within Morro Bay State Park, home to lagoons, trails and a bird-rich saltwater marsh. Morro Bay State Park’s Museum of Natural History features exhibits on ecology and local Native American culture. Trails lead up Black Hill for views over the city and Morro Bay.
