Hello dear Host family, I am Frederike and I’m glad you want to get to know me better. I am 16 years old and I live in a big city in Germany. I’m currently in the 10th grade.

I live in a family home with my closest family, which includes my father, mother, brother, sister and our two cats. My mother and father are both in their early forties, my older brother is 17 and my little sister is 6. My mother is a tax officer and my father is a navigator. My brother is in his last year of high school (12th grade) and my sister is in her first year of primary school (1st grade).

I love to spend time with my family, at short family trips (theme park visits, zoo visits, going to a restaurant together), but I also love to travel with them. This year in the summer holidays we`ve been to London and our vacation home in Sweden. It`s a nice way to bond and grow as a family. Some of my favorite occasions of the year are christmas and eastern. I feel like we always have a lot of fun and quality time together as a family.

My two cats are the cherry on top for my family. I love them to the moon and back. Giving them treats, playing with them or just cuddling with them is awesome. I overall am really found of pets.

If I had to describe myself in three words it would be “funny” “talkative” and “supportive”. I love to be around my friends and laugh with them, specially during the school breaks. It`s a great way to relax after a hard school lesson. I tend to talk a lot if I am comfortable with a person. When I meet new someone I won`t talk as much, but as soon as I get comfortable talking with them, I will open up and talk every chance I get. I enjoy a good conversation and inside jokes.

My strengths are (for example) understanding people when they are struggling and listening to people. My weakness on the other hand are (for example) concentrating over a long time period and math.

In my free time I like to meet up with my friends, go shopping or read a book. I’m also into baking and cooking. My favorite things to bake are cookies and my favorite things to cook are pastas and vegetable stir frys. I also like to be active that’s why I am trying to go to the gym at least once or twice a week. I used to play volleyball and I still like it, I just haven`t found the right club for me yet. On some weekends you will find me lying in my bed watching Formula 1, I love the sport and always get excited watching the races. As well as watching Formula 1, I also like watching series and films from the 2000`s. My favorite movies are romcoms.

My interests lay in fashion, make up and art history. Fashion inspires me in all ways possible. Talking about fashion, watching runways, discussing about it with my friends. I love to do all of these things, sometimes I even have my own ideas of possible fashion designs. Make Up is more of a fun topic I like to talk about with my friends, it isn`t as deep as my love for fashion. My interest for art history especially peaked because of the artist “Claude Monet” I find his art beautiful and I like to learn about the meaning behind it.

For my exchange I am hoping to have a great time and collect as many nice memories as possible. I would love to get to know American culture, typical American food and American holidays. I`m especially exited for thanksgiving.
