LETTER FROM Galder – Scholarship Recipient

Galder – Scholarship Recipient

Dear host family,

How are you? I hope that you are having a great day. First, thank you for reading and considering my letter. I’m very excited about sharing this amazing experience with you. I hope that we can get along well.

First of all, let me give a brief description of my family. I live with my mom and my little brother. We don’t have any pets, but one day I would like to have some. The thing that I like the most about my family is that they always listen to me when I talk. We often play board games, such as Uno or Monopoly. My family aside, I’m a very energetic and hard-working person who would like to know other cultures. Even though I have some strengths, such as being resolutive and responsible, I also have some weaknesses, for example, being a perfectionist when it comes to something related to my classes. Being a bit pessimistic is another of my cons. Last year, my team and I were one game away from winning the rugby league. At first, I thought that we couldn’t win the match because they were much bigger than us, but in the end, making a lot of effort and teamwork, we finally won the match. At that moment I realized that if you work hard and put a lot of effort into the things that you do, you can achieve everything that you want. That’s why I’m the perfect candidate for studying abroad, because I put a lot of effort into the things that I do, and I’m always willing to improve as a person.

Secondly, as I said before, one of my biggest hobbies is playing rugby. I practice three times a week. The thing that I like the most about playing rugby isn’t only the sport itself but the people that you meet. Since I started playing it, I’ve met a lot of new people that have become my friends. Another of my passions is playing board games with my friends or my family. My favorite one is called Virus and is about a doctor that needs to heal some organs. If you also like board games, I can teach you to play some of my favorite ones. Referring to my experience abroad, as I said before, I’m super hyped about it. I’m very interested in learning more about the culture and the American educational system. I would also like to practice some of the typical American sports, such as football. Last but not least, I’m very excited about meeting you and spending time with you.

Once again, thank you for considering and taking into account my letter.
