Dear host family,
Hello I’m Hannes. I am 16 years old and I live with my parents and our dog Kalle in a village in Germany. I am incredibly grateful for having the opportunity to spend half a year abroad with you. Already for that I want to thank you in advance.
I’m very excited to have this extraordinary experience and hope to find a family which can find a place in my heart. Also, I’d be very grateful if they’d let me be part of their life for the time, I am with them. I think originally the idea of participating in this exchange came from a lot of movies that had shown the classic high school cliché. By participating in this exchange, I hope to experience the real life in the US in its glory.
I love doing sports such as (beach)volleyball, fitness and basically every type of sports that physically challenges me or is just fun in general. But by far the sport I like to do the most is playing volleyball and I could basically play it every day. Furthermore, I find cars and mountain biking interesting. Also, I like to draw, sketch or even cook in my free time to cure boredom or in case of the cooking, to cure hunger. Apart from that I fairly often do things with my friends like heading to the nearest bike track or sleeping outside for a night with nothing but a sleeping bag. Sadly, this nowadays isn’t possible any longer in our area due to wolves populating nearby forests.
About me I can say that I’m rather a calm person and that I love to listen to loud music with my headphones. Important to know is also that I am a person who is open to almost anything but often needs time to open up to new things. In other words, especially in the beginning I may be a bit closed up but as time passes, I’ll open up.
As mentioned in the beginning I live with my parents and our dog. We all live in a very good relationship with each other even tho we sometimes have tiny arguments. Our dog Kalle is a mix between an Australian shepherd and a poodle who also is very friendly, careful and loves to play games which include tons of running around.
For a long time now, I’ve been looking forward to participating in this exchange in the US and getting to know the American way of life and your beautiful country. Due to that I once more want to thank you since without you this wouldn’t be possible.
