Dear Host Family,

Hello! My name is Hinaka. Thank you so much for welcoming me into your family. I am very excited to meet you and spend time together.

I come from a family of five, and I have two younger brothers. We get along well and love playing games and spending time together. My father enjoys going for drives, so we often visit different places on holidays. I also enjoy going to concerts of my favorite artists and shopping with my mother. My family loves to travel and we go to different places every year. This summer, we went camping and had a great time playing by the river.

I would describe myself as friendly and cheerful. I love talking with my friends and always enjoy spending time with them. At school, I often take on leadership roles, and my classmates depend on me. Back in junior high, I was the leader of our brass band, and I played the trumpet in front of everyone. I also play the piano which I learned it for six years.

One of my favorite hobbies is listening to music, especially K-pop, and I love going to concerts. However, I enjoy many different genres, not just K-pop! I also really like cooking and have made many different dishes. One of my specialties is curry and rice, and I hope to cook it for you while I’m there. I’d also love to learn how to make some traditional American dishes!

I’m really looking forward to learning more about American culture through this exchange program and spending a wonderful time with you. I’ve been studying English a lot at school, and I even get to practice with some international students in my class. It’s been fun learning not just English but also about different cultures through them.

Even if challenges arise while studying abroad, I am ready to communicate and overcome them carefully. Again, I am excited to meet you and create many wonderful memories together!
