Dear my future host family,

I am excited to introduce myself and share a bit about my background and aspirations as I prepare to become part of your family! My name is Jiyoon, and I grew up in a loving household with my older brother and our parents.

Although my parents divorced when I was seven, my mother has been an incredible pillar of strength for all of us, raising my brother and me on her own. Her dedication and sacrifices have deeply inspired me, and I am endlessly grateful for her unwavering support and love and not take everything for granted. My brother and I, understanding the challenges my mother faced, matured earlier than many of our peers. My brother often stepped into roles that exceeded his age, acting as a supportive partner to my mother and a guiding figure to me. His strength and maturity have been a beacon for me, teaching me the importance of resilience and responsibility. Each member of my family strives to excel in their pursuits, and I, too, am committed to doing my best and cherishing the opportunities that come my way.

I have always been curious and eager to explore new experiences. This enthusiasm for learning has led me to take various classes outside of school, including those in nail art and hair styling. Through these experiences, I have embraced challenges, understanding that failure is just the beginning to success. My resilience has grown stronger with each setback, enabling me to recover quickly and face new challenges with a smile. I have developed the ability to prioritize tasks, ensuring that urgent and important matters are addressed efficiently.

People around me often describe me as cheerful and energetic. My bright disposition allows me to connect with friends easily, and we enjoy spending quality time together, whether shopping or engaging in physical activities. Fitness is a significant part of my life, and I regularly visit the gym, which has become one of my favorite hobbies.

One of my primary goals for this exchange program is to enhance my English proficiency and adapt to new surroundings, especially since I will be living in a suburban area. I view this as an opportunity to grow more independent and develop my adaptability. I am particularly intrigued by the U.S. education system, which seems to offer greater flexibility in choosing subjects of interest alongside required courses. This approach will allow me to explore various fields, reflect on my interests, and envision my future aspirations more clearly.

I am eager to immerse myself in school life and American culture, gaining insights that will help shape my personal and academic growth. I hope to learn not only from the educational opportunities but also from the everyday experiences and cultural exchanges that this journey will bring.
