| Dear future host parents, I am Jonna and I am from Germany. I am really grateful that you welcome me into your family to become acquainted with American culture. In Germany, I live with my parents and my little brother. We love to take trips with friends and family at the weekend or play games together. For example, my brother and I always enjoy playing “Doppelkopf”, a typical German card game with our grandparents. We also love to go on vacation. In the summer we go hiking or to the beach and in the winter, we love to go skiing. We all are passionate skiers and skiing is one of my favorite hobbies. I have just started swimming in a swimming club. Furthermore, I do horse riding. During the holidays, I am often spending time at the riding stables and go on vacation there. I do not have a own horse but I am always spending much time at the stables, would ride multiple times a week and care for the horses, for example feed and ride out. I am a passionate rider since I am six or seven. I also love hanging out with my friends. We are at the stables or do other activities like spending time outside, going swimming at the lake during summer and go to the mall or the cinema together. Just as much as I enjoy being around other people, I also enjoy reading or just have some time for myself. The idea to study abroad originally came especially to improve my English but the more I informed myself about exchange years, the more reasons I found why I really want to do it. I am looking forward to learning about the American culture, finding new friends and experiencing the high school life. I am open to all new experiences and I am excited about everything. Especially, I am excited to meet you, my host family, and become acquainted with so many new things and people.
