Dear My Host Family,
Hi my name is Kibeom and my English name is David.
First of all, let me introduce myself. I am good listener. I focus on someone’s viewpoint than my viewpoint. Of course, my viewpoint is important but I think other’s viewpoint also important as mine. So, I work hard to focus on other’s viewpoint.
I would like to tell you about my family. I live with mom, dad, and my older brother. My mom likes have fun in the water. She goes to a swimming pool. My dad likes to go camping. We went camping to Samcheok in Gangwon-do. It was very cold. Lastly my brother likes playing basketball. He played catch with me often. But now, he can’t play catch because he has too many private education institutes.
Also, I like to hang out with my friends. When I’m with my friends, I usually go to café, play basketball, or play games together. But I love playing basketball the most because I can cultivate team work when I play basketball. For this reason, I like P.E. But I like not only P.E but also science. I have two dream jobs which are related to science. One is being an engineer and the other is being NASA’s staff.
The reason why I apply for this exchange student program is that I want to improve my English. As I said above, I want to work on foreign country. Then companies request good grades and fluent English skills from applicants. The second reason why I applied exchange student is I want to experience American culture. The U.S I know is living in a big house, have astonishingly beautiful natural scenes, and free daily life. For example, in Korea, not everyone, but I go to academy every day after school. But I have a general knowledge that students play with friends after school. Of course, I play with my friends sometimes, but it’s hard to play after school. So, I would like to experience American cultures in America.
What I want to do with my host family is that I just want to play basketball with my family and go shopping together. Because I want to get to know each other and it can be closer to have time together with my host family. And I want to get advice and learn from it which can improve myself if you are fine. I also want to share Korean culture, such as Korean food. I want to cook Korean food for my host family. Of course, I don’t know if you like Korean food, but I just want you to experience Korean culture. This is the motivation and what I want to do when I applied for an exchange student.
Thank you for reading such a long story. And I wish everyone who has read this letter all the best. Bye-Bye.
Thank you,
Kibeom
