Dear host family,

First I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to live in your family for a year. My name is Leni , I’m from Germany and I live with my older sister Tara, my parents Tina and Michael and my grandparents Doris and Manfred in one house. My grandparents have a dog named Lissy. I do enjoy activities with them. At our home I have to clean my room and help my mother in the household. I like the time with my family, we go on vacation 2 times a year. Every winter holiday we go skiing in Austria ,and in the summer we visit a warm country or even the beach. Me and my sister have a very good relation with each other, in the evenings we often watch movies together or we go on car rides listening to music. Since 2019 I’m doing horseback riding , I’m at the stables at least four times a week, I have an riding participation for 1.5 years now, his name is Fabio. Every few months I go on dressage competitions with him. I love spending time with my friends, most of them also have a horse at the same stable, so we meet very often. On weekends I meet my other friends from school, in the winter months we like to go ice skating together. Or we just hang out in the city and go shopping and eat something afterwards, I love eating pizza or pasta. Every Saturday I wake up at 4 am to work on a market , there i sell vegetables and fruits from a local farmer. Both of my parents have a full time job so I often need to cook for myself, that’s why I know the basic recipes.I would describe myself as an open, responsible and funny person which always tries to make the best out of every situation. I dream about doing an exchange year to experience the typical Highschool spirit, make new friends and meet new people. I want to improve my English and get to know your culture, hopefully I can show you something about the German culture as well. My sister also went to the USA for a year, she says that it was the best time in her life. Thank you for reading my letter. I can’t wait to get to know my new family!
