LETTER FROM Lilly

Lilly

Hi there,

My name is Lilly, I’m a German teenage girl and I probably have a pretty normal life. My parents divorced when I was about three to four years old. I’m living in a kind of weekly constellation switching between my mum’s and my dad’s home.

Sure, it’s making some things harder but my parents are still friends.

My father married my step-mum in 2016. We live with her since about 10 years and honestly I can’t imagine life without her anymore. I love spending time with all three of them, but also my whole family besides them.

I also love going out with my friends. Most of the time it’s relative spontaneous when we do something. We’re just on our way home with the tram and then somehow decide to go get a coffee or just eat something at a café. It probably is even more fun in the summer when we can go to lakes, eat ice cream and spend time in parks. Some of my friends live further away from here so I don’t see them that often – but they nevertheless are really important to me. I also love sharing interests with my friends like for example reading. I love reading books, but what I probably like even more about reading is talking about them with my friends.

I’m learning English since like forever. Already in kindergarten I got English fairytale books for my birthday. Something about the language is just so fascinating to me that I always wanted to do an exchange year – I just had to wait until I was brave enough. And here I am. I’m literally so exited for everything about this experience.

I’m open for everything I want to get to know the culture, want to get to know new people and in general things that are nothing like home here in Germany.

Thank you for reading this, maybe we’re going to hear from each other! 🙂

Love,

Lilly
