Dear future host family,
My name is Loreto, I’m a fifteen-year-old girl, and I’m absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to become an exchange student and immerse myself in life in a new country! Before sharing more about myself, I want to sincerely thank you for welcoming me into your home.
I’m from Spain, a beautiful country that I would recommend to visit to anyone reading this letter. I live near the center of a city, where I enjoy going to spend time with my family and friends. I live with my father, my mother, and my old sister, Julia. We enjoy doing many activities together, like: attending my mom’s yoga classes, trying new restaurants, exploring nature or go feed the cats at my dad’s work. I love animals!
I see myself as a kind and responsible person, at first I could be a bit shy, but when I gain confidence I easily show the social and fun part of me. I’m really passionate about the things I love, like cooking, which is my favorite hobby. I especially enjoy it when I do it with someone, for example with my friends or my sister.
My favorite food is paella, the most typical dish of Spain, we usually eat it every Sunday and I recently learned how to do it, so if you would like, I could make it for you one day. Believe me, it’s so good! I also love music, to be honest I have a wide taste, my favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey, Melendi (Spanish singer) and Noah Kahan but I can listen to any kind of music and enjoy it. I really feel that life is better with it. Another passion of mine is traveling. I had the privilege of visiting many places and learning about different cultures, travelling also inspired my decision to study in your country.
When I told my family about this idea they supported me and helped me to make this dream come true. I will always be grateful for all of the effort that they are doing for me. What I hope to achieve in this life changing experience is to grow as a person and find what I am made for. It will also prepare me to be an independent person and learn more about life. I don’t know about my future yet, but I’m sure this journey will bring me many surprises and experiences.
Thank you so much for giving me this great opportunity and considering me as a member of your family, I don’t know you yet, but I am convinced that I will learn as much from you as you do from me.
I can’t wait to get to know you all!
