Helloo!!

My name is Maria and I am so excited to write this letter! First of all, I wanted to thank you for read it and for considering me to be part of your family.

Since I was a little girl I have always dreamed about the experience of living the life of a teenager in the USA. like in “high school musical movie” or “mean girls” hahaha. I had always thought about it as a dream but recently I discovered that my dream could become possible thanks to you and I am really grateful because it is a unique experience.

I am 15 years old and I live in Seville, a city in the south of Spain. I live in a small but cozy apartment but with a big garden, with my family. At school I get very good grades and I participate a lot in class. I have a lot of friends and when it comes to meeting new people I am more open than some time ago, when I was more shy and had less confidence in myself. I’m very friendly and I’m always willing to help the others. I like cooking, listening to music especially reggeton, watching movies and teen series like “Gossip Girl” or “Greasse” and shopping because I love clothes. My dream is to be a cheerleader in the USA. I’ve been riding horses since I was 6 years old, I go to the gym and I like to play volleyball. I have also practiced paddle tennis, tennis, badminton and artistic gymnastics.

In my free time I go out with my friends we walk around the neighborhood and sometimes we go to the cinema or shopping.

I love animals, especially dogs and horses, so I want to be a veterinarian when I get adult.

I’m calm but my friends also tell me that I’m an amused person and very funny. Sometimes I am a bit impatient and stubborn but I am trying to change that.

In my family, I am the only one of my siblings who never had to be told to do homework because I am very organized, hardworking and independent.
Every year I collaborate with a food bank for people without resources.
I have traveled to France, Portugal and Italy, I loved all 3 countries because I love to travel and learn about the culture and see new monuments in other countries.

In December I will go with my family to a safari in Kenya (Africa) and I’m really looking forward to it!

I think you would have a lot of fun having me in your family. From this description you can get an idea of how I can contribute to the family, for example cooking Spanish food, taking the dog for a walk, doing my housework, being a good big sister and teaching you the customs of my city and the traditional dances like the “sevillanas”.

I have 2 siblings who live at home with me and my parents. My parents treat me very well and I get along great with them but sometimes we have our discussions like any family. My brother is 17 years old, he is the older brother and I have a very good relationship with him. My sister is 11 years old and she is the youngest of the family, that’s why I usually call her “the baby” as a joke hahaha; we have what is usually called love/hate because we love each other and we laugh a lot but we also argue a lot. I also have a female dog named China and she is very important to me. We love to go on family trips and go to the beach.

I hope we get along very well and that you become like a second family to me. Finally I would like to commit to keep in touch with my family and friends once a week so I can enjoy the experience and become a real member of your family.

I am super excited to be able to live this experience and I am infinitely grateful to the host family.
