Hi everyone I’m María!, before I began introducing me and talk about me, I would like to express my gratitude to you for reading this letter and gaste your time reading it. Also thanks for giving me this opportunity of having part of your family during this year and being part of the adventure that I’m going to live with you.
I´m going to start by talking about my family here in Spain. We are four people, my father, my mother, my sister and me. Let’s start with my sister, she is older than me she have 17 years, her name is Paula, she is in her last year of high school. Having an older sister is to funny spending time with her she teach me new things that I have never done or she talk me about them, we share almost everything like clothes or even the type of music we hear. Even though we sometimes fight we usually resolve that fight really soon because we spend most of our time together so no-one of us get bored, I love dancing with her we have a great time we also make some funny videos. My dad is medical visitor and my mom is a nurse. I love spending time with my family playing board games that are so funny or doing sports such as skiing in Sierra Nevada, going out with the bike or going into a solidarity race in our town. The most especial thing about my parents is the way they love me and how they show me and my sister that.
Now I’m going to talk about me, I consider myself an sociable person I love making new friends for having a great time, because yes I like doing things most of time and having fun with my friend and family. Part of the time I can be also a calm person, for example for making things that require lot of time and effort, so all the things I do go good and they end up to perfection, specially in the study topics at high school. Last year I had a difficulty in the subject of Ballet, the problem was that I didn’t have the marks that I liked so I set myself a challenge to get the marks that I wanted , thanks to all my effort I made it. To continue describing me I would say that I’m a really affectionate person with my fiends when I have a lot of trust, maybe at first I can have a little bit of shy of meeting another person o I can be a little sacred about what they would thing about me, because is the first impression. A quality that my friend would describe me would be cheerful because most or the time I’m laughing with them. I’m sure that I could bring my joy y we would have a lot of funny moments, and demonstrating my affection. At the same time I would show the Spanish culture and the culture of my land Granada.
I have quite a facility for mathematics, which in addition to the fact that it is easy for me, I love it. It is a subject where I am paying attention because I like it. Dancing is one of my passions, which is why I am a dance conservatory, dancing Danza Española, after my hours at the high school I go to dance classes for most of the afternoon from Monday to Friday. I can spend hours dancing, obviously I get a lot tired but I think it’s worth it because it’s something that fills me inside and makes me stop thinking about other things. Cheerleading is a sport that I would love to be able to practice there in the United States since it is not here and I have been thinking for a long time about how I would do it, in addition to being able to find a very large group of friends. As I said before, I’m love doing thing most of the time which means that I love practicing sports, at school we practice a lot of sports and the truth is that I would like to be able to try new sports that I haven’t done yet.
Regarding the use of the cell phone, I am very clear that it is something that I should not be involved in all the time. My sister was in the United States last year and she has explained to me that to have the full experience that I want, I must put the cell phone away so I can adapt at the high school and being part on a very nice family. I’ll be able to use my cell phone to talk to my parents and tell them how things are going there at some point with some friends, but what I know for sure is that I want to leave Spain to focus on the American experience.
Well, to finish, I wanted to tell you that cooking Spanish food, like paella or croquettes, is going to be something that of course I am going to do, with you clearly so that you can see the steps and so that you can help me cook, which I have to start practicing from now on, because it’s something I haven’t figured out. I hope that with this letter I can have a great family that has chosen me, how happy I will be with them, and the great experience they have given me the opportunity to have with them. Thank you very much for reading this letter and for being able to consider me as one of the family. See you soon!
