Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter and for considering me to join your family during this amazing experience. I admire the kindness and generosity it takes to welcome a student like me into your home, and I’m so excited about the opportunity to learn from you, share my culture, and become part of your family creating lasting memories together.

My name is Martina, I’m 15 years old, and I live in the charming and historic city of Seville, Spain, with my parents and my older brother, Luis, who is 17. My family is very close-knit, and we love spending time together—cooking, traveling, and playing board games. My parents both work for multinational companies, which has exposed me to the importance of being open-minded and adaptable, values that have shaped me and prepared me for this journey. I would describe myself as curious, independent, and friendly. I enjoy meeting new people and exploring different cultures. My friends and family say I’m caring, reliable, and hardworking, and I value those qualities because they help me connect with others.

One of the things I’m most looking forward to is becoming part of your family’s daily life. I believe family is built on shared moments, and I can’t wait to contribute to your family’s daily life by helping with chores, helping with the pets (if you have any), or being a kind and helpful big sister if you have younger children, and also participating in family traditions. I’d love to share some of my Spanish culture with you too, like teaching you a few Spanish phrases or talking about our festivals.

At school, I enjoy history and physics-chemistry because they challenge me and feed my curiosity. I love being active and would be thrilled to try sports or activities popular in the U.S. Whether it’s joining a school team, participating in school clubs, or volunteering, I’m eager to get involved and experience life as part of the school community. I’m also fascinated by American traditions like Thanksgiving and school spirit events, and I can’t wait to take part in them. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching series, and spending time with friends. I’d also love to discover what people my age in your family enjoy doing and share those activities together, whether it’s sports, hobbies, or simply hanging out. Having moved cities and schools several times because of my parents’ jobs, I’ve learned how to adapt to new environments and build meaningful connections. I’m confident I can adjust quickly to your family and contribute to your home with positivity and enthusiasm.
