Hello, Dear Host Family!

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Matiass, I am 15 and I come from a small and charming country called Latvia (Europe). I love going to the gym and lifting weights, sometimes I go jogging even thought I don’t like it that much, but that’s why I would consider myself disciplined and motivated. I love music, especially Rap/hip-hop, but I also listen to different kinds of music, once I even tried making some beats myself. I would consider myself confident cause I have performed a Latvian rap song in front of the whole school and my teacher trusted me to lead a lesson for the whole class about harmful effects of substance abuse.

One of my hobbies is also playing computer games with my friends, but sometimes I don’t feel like wasting time, so my friends and me are investigating opportunities how to make business online, I also sometimes read books for self-development.

I have an awesome family which consists of my younger sister, my sweet mom, cool dad and, of course, me, and two of my dogs, both of them are chihuahuas with big, cute eyes. However my parents live separately, so we usually spend time with each of them separately, but mostly in the same ways which is taking a walk, watching a movie or some other entertainment. My mom usually cooks food at home and we enjoy it together, and I could say that I am not that picky with food, I eat almost everything.

I have always been interested in American culture and I am happy that next year I can go there and get to know better the culture, traditions, food, visit new places, get to know people, make friends and study. And I am looking forward to enjoying time together with you! 😀
