Hello dear host family,

My name is Ole and I am very happy to write you this letter to give you an insight into my life and my everyday life.

I am 16 years old and will be 17 in the US. I have two older brothers (21,20), a younger sister (12) and a two-year-old half-brother. My parents are separated and I live with my mother, her new partner, my older brothers and my little sister. We live in a very rural area and I have grown up with animals like dogs, cats and horses, although we don’t live on a farm. Since I was little we have been going on a skiing holiday almost every year, which is always a highlight for me. I visit my father at the weekends or after school, so I usually see my half-brother then.

My hobbies include soccer, volleyball and basketball – generally anything to do with sport! I’m a very sporty and open-minded person who likes to try new things. I also love cars and motorbikes. As soon as a vehicle drives past me with a cool sound, I immediately look around. In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends, mostly outdoors.

Last year I had the opportunity to take part in a student exchange to England that lasted a week. This experience strengthened my desire to travel the world. Even as a child, it was my big dream to travel to the USA. I find High school life and American football particularly exciting. I have seen many films and series set in the USA and am very curious to get to know real life there. I even have a small “bucket list” of things that I want to experience in the USA – for example, I definitely would love to join a school team, watch a football game and, if possible, even play myself.
