Dear host family,

Firstly, let me thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter, in which I will try to describe as best as I can both myself and my family. Let me start with my family. My mother is very affectionate and a movie-lover, and that is why I love watching TV shows and movies with her. My father is always fun to be with. I like talking to him while we go for a walk because he listens. My brother Alejandro is very easygoing. I consider him my best friend. I enjoy talking to him about our hobbies (usually similar) and playing videogames with him. My favorite thing to do with my family is to watch movies all together or going out to a restaurant the four of us on weekends. I have always liked tasting new foods, but I am a real fan of American food (hamburgers, fried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, bacon and eggs are my all-time favorites!).

I consider that one of my strengths is that I am a calm boy who is not easily offended. I am kind and inclusive (that’s what my friends tell me). I would say that my main weakness is that I am a little bit shy, but mostly with adults. My parents have always helped me to overcome that by encouraging me to meet new people and I think that I am now a rather sociable person. I may not be the most talkative person in a group of people, but I think that people like to have me around and I never get into trouble.

As to my hobbies, I like to play videogames with my brother or with my friends. I also like watching movies. Regarding sports, I really like basketball, which is my favorite sport. I would really love to play basketball during my year in the USA. I know that sports are taken very seriously at high school, and I am looking forward to having that experience. It will also be a nice way of making new friends, and getting to know the American culture
